Sleeping with a duvet/pillow

Hi All.
We bought our 18 month old DS a 4 tog duvet and pillow set today.
We haven't used them before, and I'm at a loss as to what to dress him in for sleep with it.
He currently has long trousers and a t-shirt on and seems content (room at 20c) however this temp will drop later in the night.
Can anyone advise?
What is your duvet'd toddler wearing this evening/what temperature is the room? Thanks!

my 18 month old has the same and i put her in whatever i’m wearing, so usually just normal pyjamas and socks

I was considering this for our next step in toddlerhood. I think I'm going to stick with sleeping bags. The kind that have legs. Seems less stressful. I know my son wouldn't remain under a duvet all night.
