11MO stopped sleeping

My LO is 11mo, will be 12mo in November.

Up until about a month ago she was doing well with her sleep, she would wake a bit at the start of the night but just need her dummy passed to her and would go back to sleep until 7am. Her bedtimes had crept later as She is still doing two naps but staying awake longer in the day so she was going to bed around 8-8:30

A month ago we all had a sickness bug and she co slept with us as we couldn't settle her in her cot, she would wake every 15-20 minutes hysterically crying. She stopped when picked up but started again as soon as put in her cot.

The illness has gone but the sleep is now terrible and she wants to be held all the time. She cries hysterically when put down and stops immediately when picked up. We have been doing sleep training for about five days (a gentle
Form of controlled crying) and it's still lot getting much better - she gets so upset she made herself sick the other night. I don't know what to do..

It's just so strange as even when she was younger she wasn't a clingy baby and wanted to be put down for naps and wouldn't really sleep on us.

Any words of encouragement?

Is lo teething? I want ti say there is a regression around 12 months and seperation anxiety is around too..... maybe that's it?

Personally I would give reassurance and at same time carry on with your method. Lo is adapting and takes time for them to adjust. Day 5 can be the hard turning point before it goes more smoothly.
