Keeping baby in our room to 1 year (or longer?)

DS is 4 months and in a next to me. My plan was to move him to his cotbed in his own room around Christmas time, but we have a tiny flat and I'm thinking practically we could be done with keeping his room as the nursery/spare room hybrid it currently is.

Considering moving his cotbed into our room and keeping him with us until at least 1 year if not longer. He sleeps fine, up once in the night most nights but straight back to sleep after a bottle.

Are there potential downsides to this down the line that I'm not considering?
