9mo naps all over the place

Hi there, my wee boys naps are all over the place just now. He's 9.5 months and on two naps per day but is sometimes going 4.5 hours between naps. This seems like an awful long time so I'm worried he's not getting enough rest but is doing ok at night generally and seems content. If I try to put him down earlier he just screams and goes crazy crawling in his cot. Has anyone else experienced similar? Xx

My 9 month old goes absolutely crazy if I put her down after 4.5 hour awake window but if a put her down at 3.5 hours she goes straight to sleep so maybe overtired?
How long are naps and timings?
Mine has a 45 minute nap in morning and 1.5 hours in afternoon (awake by 3:30) except today when she woke at 2:30 after 30 mins! Argh

Thanks for the reply! He tends to have about 40 mins in the morning and 1hr 15 in the afternoon. He'll often want his morning nap about 3.5 hours after morning waking, but won't take an afternoon nap until 4.5 hours after that nap. If I try to go earlier than that he screams and battles with me for a long time like he isn't ready. He's also not great at napping in his cot!! They love to throw curve balls don't they :)

It's absolute hell. I cannot wait until these shit nap years are over. My 9 month old hates napping out and about so we are prisoners in the house. We get out for the middle but of day. What are your nights like?

Same for my 9 month old. She had no afternoon yesterday as we were out in the pram but slept fine in the evening. I dread trying to put her down for naps as it's a constant battle but if I don't try, she either doesn't sleep or gets very angry and won't sleep. I have heard the app napper as I've heard it supposed to be good - would like some sort of daily routine for my sanity!

We are prisoners in the house too! I'm sorry you're suffering it too but I'm relieved I'm not the only one. It's so hard to do anything with just that wee window in the middle of the day between his naps. Our nights are generally not too bad but he is an eternal early riser. I feel like we've tried everything to get him to sleep later but to no avail. How are your nights?

@clearbuttons I've really gotten in my head about getting everything wrong with naps to the point I always dread nap time too. I just wish he was on a by the cloak schedule!

Well we have had absolutely horrendous sleep since 6.5 months. Lots of split nights, multiple wakes, early wakes. Last week we had 3 split nights, a 4:45 wake up, crawling around cot etc. I was going to bed at 9 ish and only getting 4/5 ish broken hours of sleep a night. Then all of a sudden she slept 8pm-6am the last two nights. She can self settle and has done since I did a bit of sleep training so that was never the issue! God knows.
