My LO is normally a good sleeper. She’s normally asleep by 7pm but recently she wakes up at 4:10am on the dot every night. Then there’s multiple runs to put the dummy back in or put the night light on with lullabies. This normally goes until 6/7am by which point I’m exhausted.

a sleep consultation said to get rid of the dummy and that if she wakes up and the dummy has fallen out then she can’t link the sleep cycle etc but she can go to sleep with no dummy but still wakes and only the dummy settles her. She hasn’t learnt yet how to put the dummy in herself even though there’s a few in her cot (glow in the dark ones)

she’s found her voice so is quite loud babbling about/crying in the cot so I rush to her so she doesn’t wake the rest of the house up.

her routine is:
6/7am - I get her out of her cot
7:30am - bottle 8oz
8:30-9:30/10 - nap
10/10:30 - porridge and maybe some fruit
11:30 - sometimes a nap sometimes not.
12pm - bottle
1-3/4pm - nap
4:30/5pm - dinner & fruit
6pm - bath, bottle and in bed

ive tried to delay bedtime however come 6pm she’s normally a tired cranky wreck who rubs her eyes. She’s had a day last week where she only had 1 30 min nap and still woke up at 4:10am.

any suggestions??

For us only thing that worked was a later bedtime. If I put my lo to bed even now at 6pm then she be up at 4 to 430am.

Also at this age my lo was still having 3 naps until 8 or 9 months.

Can you adjust nap time a bit?? Then fit in 3 naps. Then later bedtime. Also from 430pm/5pm till 730am is long time with no food unless I read that wrong?

If I read it right lo is getting 1.5 in morning 2 hours in afternoon. And 10 to 10.5 overnight? So that would be 13.5 to 14 hours. Which I think is about right for Los age.

I want to say there may be a sleep regression at this age too.

With the dummy lots and lots of practise finding dummy on floor to get used to putting in mouth. Also put about 20 dummies in and around cot. It will help.

Checking that lo isn't cold ? Birds waking lo? Etx

It's hard! Try a blackout blind. Try and work out if there's some sort of click that wakes your baby, like radiators coming on or such and get rid of it.
Had early risers and I ended up sleeping when they slept in the daytime but it's bloody hard

I would try adjusting her wake windows in the day. Atm I think she may be going too long between naps. Try and follow this - obvs exact times don't matter it's the hours between that count. Does she have a dream feed?

Mine has gone through this, she used to sleep perfectly but from 4 months old the second half of the night is so hit and miss. Its finally getting better so hang in there!
