18 month old sleep regression

My son seems to have hit every single sleep regression since he was 5 months old, he's awake for hours on end a night. When he's not going through one he sleep perfect 7pm - 6:30am
But the problem me and my partner have is that he's still rocked to sleep so when he's going through a regression we are Literally in his room for 4 hours a night just rocking him in the dark.
We are strict with his routine we have never let him play or go down stairs during the night. We have tried to put him in our bed multiple times thinking he wants us but that seems to wake him and he just wants to play.
I just don't know what to do, I can't keep standing in his bedroom rocking him for 4/5 hours a night.
Even if he goes to sleep at 4am he will still wake 7:30 latest.
Today he's refused to nap all day, i rocked him for 2 hours, he then had a tantrum and got very frustrated so I gave up, he's hardly eaten all day, he went to sleep at 7pm this evening after not napping all day, woke up at 12:00am and no doubt will be up until 4/5am with me just rocking him in and out of sleep and then wake up for the day at 7:30.

Please help if anyone has any tips or advise

I’m only seeing your post now, I’m going through something similar with 1 of my twins, she’s not up for as long but at least 2 hours for me, which then disturbs her twin brother. Did it get any better?

I'm so sorry I've only just seen this reply. My son has never been a good sleep we but 3 weeks before his 2nd birthday just last month he started sleeping through the night. What I done was for 5 days straight I did not let him nap, he didn't also seem to need to nap. He started sleeping through, he naps again now but when he does we do struggle to get him to sleep before 9pm, but as long as he isn't waking up multiple times a night I can cope. I hope your little ones sleep has got better
