Holiday nap/sleep - HELP

Hey everyone,

I'm just looking for some tips/advice on baby napping and sleep on holiday. My son is 19 months old and we've been on holiday when he was 8 months and 14 months. I was so strict with naps and bed time when he was 8 months and then maybe less so at 14 months, but I'd really like to throw my routine fully out of the window and not be obsessed with getting him back for his nap and getting to bed. I'd really like to go for dinners etc and let him sleep in pram and then move him to bed when we get in.

He does nap wherever day to day, but because we're at home I do bath, story and bed in the evening.

What do I do, do I put him in his PJs and take him out for the evening when it's due his bed time, do I give him a later nap or maybe 2 naps to keep him going? One late morning/early afternoon and one late afternoon?

Any tips, experience and advice would be appreciated!

I still use a sling and let my 2yo nap on my back if the pram doesn’t work for a nap while on holidays for whatever reason. Sometimes missing a nap means an earlier bedtime, sometimes I allow a later nap but try and rouse them for dinner.

I think just try relaxing your rules one day and see what happens, and respond accordingly depending on how tired or bothered by it they seem.
