6 month old sleep issues

Just looking for some advice please.

My 6 month old girl previously has mostly slept fine, waking up for one or two feeds a night (brestfed). Sleep from 20:30 - 07;00. My partner puts her down when shes asleep which weve read you should put them down when they are almost asleep.

Since last Monday shes been waking up at least 5 times a night. Gets fed and go back to sleep. Sometimes we see on the monitor that she wakes up but sucks her thumb and goes back to sleep. We dont always pick her up straight away but when she starts roaring my partner feeds her.

She started weaning last week aswell.

Should we start sleep training or if this likely to be a phase? any advise apricated

I was stressing bout this when my ds was 6 months, found that it was a phrase a "6 month sleep regression". Its nothing to worry about. I didn't do sleep training we co slept for a few weeks but he went back to normal sleep.

My baby did this at the same age, it was awful :(
It only lasted around 10 days and now he’s back to only waking twice for feeds.
I realised at this age he only needs to be fed 2/3 times a night, so if he’s waking an hour or two after you put him down he’s probably not hungry so try to get him back to sleep other ways.

I did Ferber at 6 months and it was amazing, literally life changing. Really recommend reading the book.

We still did 2 feeds, and then reduced to 1 feed at 7 months and no feeds by 9 months.

My DS used to wake up every 30 mins so we were kind of forced into doing it as we couldn’t go on. But I do think it was a blessing in disguise because he sleeps so well after the training (7-7 and goes to sleep himself for bed time and naps). He’s now 18 months and has been consistently good since training at 6 months.

Friends who didn’t sleep train still spend ages getting their babies to sleep for night time/ naps/ still waking in the night as toddlers. Genuinely the best parenting decision I’ve ever made.
