DD was like this when she was little. Lockdown happened when she was 3 months and by the time we were out in the car again, she was in another car seat and was fine.

Her infant seat was a lie flat one and I think it made her reflux worse.

If I planned my trips so she'd be asleep, she was ok. I had to get her to sleep before going in the car though, ie putting the car seat on the pushchair and walking until she was sleeping.

But I had lots of awful trips where she screamed until I got her out.

Wish i could time his sleep with going in car,my mum suggested try him in car seat at home for abit so he gets used to it,he does look a little snug in it but defo too little to remove the insert.maybe i should take him out in car seat attached too pram see how he copes xx

Mine was like this until one day around 4.5 months old he suddenly didn't scream anymore! And for two weeks now he's been good in the car. Gets grizzly if he's hungry or tired, but otherwise just likes to look out the window or play with a muslin. Nothing changed except time.

Take out the triangle insert thingy.

I had two large babies and both were out of the insert my six weeks.

I don’t really have any tips but we are currently experiencing the same thing with my 12 week old boy. He was fine in the car from birth he would sleep and then when he got more alert he would just look round (so long as he had his dummy in) or fall asleep. 2 weeks ago we had the journey from hell and got stuck in grid locked traffic in Birmingham for hours and in the end my mother in law had to get him out of his car seat as we weren’t moving as he was crying so much. Since then he now hates the car and screams the minute I put him in. We had a paediatrician appointment in a different city the other day and I had to take him alone, he screamed for 45 minutes solid until he screamed himself to sleep and I couldn’t stop as was on the motorway. I have tried dangling toys to keep him entertained, if I lean back and put his dummy back in he is just crying so much he drops it straight away. I’m dreading the car at the moment 😭

It’s so hard. 2 of my 3 kids did this. Nursey rhymes might help (soon, even if not now).
