21 month old dropping nap?

My LO will be 2 in December, and for the past month or so naps just seem to be non existent! Some days he will go down, but most he doesn't look at all tired and therefore doesn't nap.

If he naps for an hour he sleeps 8.15-7 ish overnight (although takes forever to get him down as he doesn't seem tired). Whereas if he doesn't he does 7-7 just fine and goes down easy.

Is this too early to drop a nap, or should I just go with it? Everything I read says they should nap much longer, but every child is different of course! Anyone else had similar with dropping their last nap pre 2?

I think this your answer. Time to drop it.

My 20MO’s nap has reduced to 30-40 minutes and he only does 11 hours at night. I think once he drops it altogether he’ll hopefully be back at 12 hours but he just can’t quite make it and falls asleep on the school run which really does screw bedtime otherwise. I expect to be where you are in 2 months or so. By contrast my eldest napped 2 hours a day until she was over 3. They’re all different!

My 19 month old doesnt always nap at nursery and on these days will sleep 12 to 12.5 hours overnight.

At home. 2 hour nap. Bedtime 8pm. Sleeps till 630am to 7am.
