Full moon last night = shocking sleep??

A bit of a straw poll here...last night was a full moon and my DTS slept really badly (4 night wakings between 7 and 7, it's normally 2)...and they always seem to when there is a full moon. Did anyone else have the same problem?

Does anyone know anything about this? Or is it pure coincidence? I did dismiss it to begin with but it really does happen every time so am beginning to think there is something in it.

DS2 was horrendous last night. He came into our bed just after midnight and still wouldn't settle

lou33 · 23/01/2008 09:00

yep

ds2, although admittedly not well, was up and down to my room half the night, until i gave in and kept him in my bed, then he was waking me up saying he couldnt sleep, when he had been snoring his head off inbetween

so i am tired

My severely autistic son always wakes up in the run up to the full moon. Well no he doesn't always wake up, but if he does 99% of the time it in the week before the full moon. I have been tracking this for years now

Ds3 (not autistic) is the same.

Weird isn't it.

My dd was up every 2 hours at least last night...not sure how scientific that is though, as her sleeping is fairly erratic.

Artichokes · 23/01/2008 09:15

DD had her worst night sleep for months and months. 9 hours sleep instead of her usual 12.

ScoobyDoo · 23/01/2008 09:18

Yes dd was up 3 times last night instead of the once she has been getting up lately, dp dealt with her i slept through from about 8.30pm till 7am this morning

claricebeansmum · 23/01/2008 09:19

DH complained of the moon the night before. He said it was really bright and woke him up because he thought it was time to get up!

PhDiva · 23/01/2008 17:06

yes, horrible. 11month DS up every hour till midnight, then 4 am then 6:30.

Ettenna · 23/01/2008 19:18

Yes, LO was awake between 1:30 and almost 4!! He normally just stirs at some point for maybe 20 mins or so. I've noticed this pattern at other full moons too.

TrinityRhinosDhWonHerAnIPOD · 23/01/2008 19:20

gecko actually slept 5 hours straight last night instead of up every 2

if thats what a full moon does to her, can we have more please?

Flllightattendant · 23/01/2008 20:03

Mine slept atrociously last night (3am 'can we get up now mummy?')
Ds2 did not really sleep at all

Plus I was making contingency plans for a dodgy buyer situation on ebay

Nobody any use today

Bleurghhh

fairylights · 24/01/2008 20:55

yep we had an awful night - was looking out at the moon with ds wondering whether that had anything to do with it! Mind you the last few nights have been shocking..

Are we talking about Tuesday night? I was awake from 4am and was really exhausted all day Wednesday. Last night - Wed night - I had a wonderful night's sleep.

Nappyzone · 24/01/2008 20:59
