HELP 5 month waking to play in middle of night

Hi
So when my little one was born she slept amazingly, I think this might be the 4 month sleep regression but would just like some advice.

So she wakes up at 5/6 am most days then has a nap at about 9- 11 then she will have another nap at about 1-3, and then gets very grumpy at about 5 and most of the times even if I try to get her to stay awake until at least 6 she will fall asleep at 5 and be down until about 1 am where she has a bottle, but then decides she wants to get up and play I have tried rocking, or just giving her my hand to try soothe her but she's babbling away and wants up, she then will go back to sleep at about 2.30/3 and then wake for the day after that.

How do I stop her from wanting to play in the middle of the night? Or is it something I just have to ride out ?

Thanks

I think it's looking like the routine is slightly out tbh. The 5pm sleep. Wake lo after 45 mins to an hour. Then bed about 730pm/8pm then hopefully that will bring everything forward with a later rise. As the early 5am rise till 9am is quite a long stretch.

Agree that the routine should change, to something like 45 minutes sleep 2 hours after waking, 1.5 hrs sleep 2 hours after that and another hour 2 hours after that. Then bed routine at 7pm.

Yeah I have tried to put her in a routine but it always seems to fail, my son was brilliant with his sleep this time around it's been very different. She will not go down for naps unless she wants to if I try to set a time for a nap she will fight it and I spend hours trying to get her to nap, which isn't something I can do with a toddler around to. And then if I wake her early from her nap she will just cry and whinge and be very grumpy as she's still tired.

How many naps should a 5 month be having ? I'll give it another try tomorrow but it's so hard as I find she just fights sleep constantly and is a very awake baby in the day, her bottles have gone into a routine and she seems to have them at the same time everyday but sleep is just everywhere at the moment.

3 naps but the last one does get phased out between 5 and 7 months

3 naps. My lo didn't stop having 3 naps till 8.5 months. Every lo is different.

Any changes to routine takes up to 3 weeks before they adjust and settle down too. Plan a new routine and stick to it completely.

If lo is whinging and crying at nap time or their wake windows I would say lo is definitely overtired.

Yep that 3rd nap is the worse as it's quite close to bed time. I know they get grumpy. But getting into a routine will help and settle lo down.

As lo is awake at 5am/6am your looking at first nap starting about 7am/8am, then as pp Said follow awake windows of 2 to 3 hours complete maximum of 3 hours awake.
