Do naps worsen before the night sleep during 4 months sleep regression?

I feel like I have just managed to get my 15 weeks old to take long nap (i.e 1-2.5hr) a week ago. For 6 days in a row, we were successful in getting her to fall asleep during naps by herself and she managed to stay asleep for 2-2.5 hours. However, since Monday, she is back to taking short naps some as short as 20mins, waking up looking bright eye and happy as larry. No amount of tapping can send her back to sleep. Her room is pitch black and white noise on. Nothing has really change.
In addition, she is also fighting sleep which wasn't like her before. I always watched for her tired cues and put her down and do a short calming routine and she would fall asleep herself but now, she would cry and protest. She is still sleeping well at night 12-13 hours waking twice for feed and goes back to sleep without any issues.

My question is she having a sleep regression or it is something else? In your experience, does the day naps worsen before the night sleep during a regression?

In my experience yes, the naps were the first to go wrong! (We’re at 23 weeks now and it’s all a bit of a shitshow!)

That’s exactly what happened to my DS. 2 weeks of short naps and then the night wakings started every 2 hours. We’ve just got to 23 weeks and I think we are over it and back to just 2 feeds in 12 hours.

It sounds like you are doing everything right though and she will get back to sleeping well. Good luck, it’s exhausting but doesn’t last too long!

Thank you. I think I'll have to brave myself for the terrible night. Hope you are coping.
