Dummy Run

Every single night I have to replace my LOs dummy between 6-7 times, I am exhausted 😢 I don’t know if I can bring myself to just remove the dummy though because I rely on it in the day when out and about and he has a meltdown (I’m too scared to basically). He was 6 months old yesterday and can’t put the dummy back in himself yet either.
Not sure what I am hoping for from this post but I needed to vent and kind of hoping I am not the only one in this situation 😳

You are one of millions in the situation, my little one is nine months and still can’t put her own dummy in so if you’re keeping it you need to be prepared for a few more months of it! I only replace it once maybe twice a night, anymore than that and I’d definitely be getting rid I think. Good luck

Lots of dummies in cot. We have about 15. Then in day lots of practise getting lo to put dummy in.

LittleBearPad · 22/08/2022 19:57

Loads of dummies in cot is the answer. They learn how to do it themselves

Agree with the many dummies solution. My dd used to sleep with about 8 of them spread around the cot. That way they can usually find one themselves.

Another vote for tonnes of dummies and I make sure I put a cluster of them in the same place next to her head she got used to where to find them and eventually put it in herself!
