DS is 5.5weeks and I think he is just heading into the fussy period everyone in talks about. When he actually goes to sleep he's a great sleeper and I've been able to put him in his cot once asleep (still feel like this a dream because i could never do this with DD!) But the past week it's been much harder to get him to sleep and stay asleep especially during the day. Did anyone else notice a change in sleep come the 6 week mark? Does it get better come the 8 week mark? DC1 was an awful sleeper due to reflux so no idea what's normal!

We experienced this at week 6 and 7, resorted to only sling naps as she wouldn't go to sleep on my breast or with any amout of rocking. Also had to use the sling in the middle of the night. We are slowly coming out of this now as we enter 8 weeks

It was a whole mess from what I remember. Mine will only contact nap even now at 17 weeks, but he started sleeping longer stretches overnight around 7 weeks. Now we're in the middle of the 4 month sleep regression though, so as soon as you get used to sleeping again they throw a regression at you!

We had a really fussy week or so from 6 weeks and a few evenings where LG just whinged and cried until about 8/9 when she finally fell asleep. We are 8 weeks and the past few days something has changed, she’s still a little tricky to get to sleep during the day but I think I just need to get used to the fact she doesn’t need huge naps during the day anymore!
At nighttime we give her a bath around 6.30 and at 7 she has a bottle and goes straight to sleep and wakes up between 1am - 2am for a bottle and straight back to sleep until 5/6 ish. I know it won’t last but I’ll take it for now, feels like a dream eating my tea hot and watching tv!!

Hi was wondering for some advice. My newborn was 6 weeks yesterday. On Thursday he started spitting up milk a lot more than usual (currently suspecting reflux) but on this occasion all day it was more than normal. Just recently started on carobel Then on Friday he seemed to be sleeping way more than normal. He stopped waking for feeds I was having to wake him. Saturday he was the same. Saturday he had a loose BM and his cry changed just very weak and high. I contacted out of hours they advised to monitor cause he was still having wet nappies, and no temp. Woke up on Sunday morning no change so took him to hospital they checked his belly and because he was alert at the time felt he was ok. We went home and by that night I notice we red like spots on his chest so I took him back to hospital and we were admitted. They felt the red spots could be from being sick wee blood vessels. They done tests for covid, rsv which came back normal, they done bloods on his foot and then bloods from his wee hand. All came back normal. Urine also dipped and normal. So they said it could be gastric infection. I do currently have a sore throat and a runny nose so he may have some infection. However would this not show in his bloods ? Also if that is the case how long will he big like this ? When should I take him back if not better ?
