DD started having issues sleeping when we got into the summer months, not sure if it was the heat, lighter nights or both but she just came out of her room and would fall asleep on the landing. It wasn't ideal but I let her be and carried her to bed once she fell asleep.
Over the past few weeks though she's been saying she can hear a monster in her room and after many conversations I'm 99% sure it's the boiler she can hear (it's in the back of her wardrobe).
I've shown her the boiler in both bright and dim light and explained what it's for. I've tried telling her the fairies on her wall are protecting her.
I leave the bathroom light on and doors open so it isn't completely dark.
I'm really limiting how much I use the hot water after bed time so the boiler doesn't fire but ultimately, I need hot water at times.
But she's still waking up and getting out of bed, (after I've carried her in asleep) saying she doesn't like the monster, and has now started coming down the stairs after I go to bed to sleep on the sofa.
I'd consider switching rooms with her, except we share the wall the boiler is on, so it can be heard in mine as well.
I'm concerned about how she's going to sleep when we get into winter and the heating is on.
Any advice?
