Do I wake her?

dd currently crashed out, been asleep since about 7, she only has one long sleep at night, normally no longer than 6 hours. For the last week I have been trying a routine of bath, bottle, bed, with aim of getting her to sleep at about 9pm. Doesn't always work and sometimes she only sleeps for 3 hours, now do I have a greater chance of sleep if I wake, bath and feed her, or if I put her to bed now? Shes 10 weeks old.

Never wake a sleeping baby was always my motto ...

Agree, leave her.

I think I'll leave her, hang on she's stirring, maybe decision will be taken out of my hands.. I so want to have a chance of a few hours sleep a night.

Has she had her bedtime feed? If not I would be more inclined to try lifting her get ready for bed(if she isnt already) feed her then straight back to bed otherwise you are likely to be woke in the early hours with her looking for her missed feed.

Guaranteed they wake as soon as you post!!!

my motto also never to wake a sleeping baby, rather, get your own head down asap and get at least some rest if not zzz's.

Also my rule, never wake a sleeping baby, you never know how long it will take you to achieve that same state again.

my ds was exactly the same at this age so i moved his routine so that bath and feed were over by 6:30-7 and off he went to sleep. he could go to 1 or 2am. gradually over the next 4-5 weeks this started getting later and later. sometimes he would revert back to 3 hourly but on the whole now he goes right round to 4am most nights. just a few are a bit longer. he is 17weeks now.

i must admit that i was disappointed that he chose to do the 6 hour stretch from 7pm so i just had to go to bed earlier (usually by 9). i did feel it was better to leave him go so he could learn to sleep through on his own time.

can't wait for the day when we don't have to wake for the 5-6am poop.
