5 month old routine- help!

My baby is 5 months old and generally speaking has been a decent enough sleeper. Apart from a couple of bad weeks at 4 months, she tends to go down at night drowsy around 7 and sleep through til 5, have a feed then back to sleep til 7.30 - happy days. Where I’m really starting to struggle is her day time naps. She’s struggling to get to sleep in the day and it’s taking me longer and longer to get her settled and she’ll cry and fuss and generally be very upset. Sometimes I resort to feeding to sleep, sometimes she’ll have a cry and go off - it’s all very hit and miss. I’ve created some other ‘bad habits’ too like putting her down on my bed and lying with her rather than putting her in the cot. I’m following wake windows and really thought I was getting her down at the right time but it’s just not going very well.
her naps could then last any amount of time!
I wondered should I implement a more consistent nap routine ? How should I do this?
she sucks her thumb to self sooth but it’s like the magic thumb is losing its power to help her!
any advice or suggestions greatly received!
