I’m a single parent and my 11 month old is now waking up at 4-5am. He doesn’t want feeding but seems ready to start the day. He’s currently on 2 naps, first at 9am for 45mins, second at 12.30 for 2hrs bedtime is around 6.30/7pm. Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you waking lo from nap at 9am? Also lo having no nap from 4am/5am until 9am? Is lo waking up crying at 4/5 and do they seem tired?

There's 13 hours sleep in 24 hours..... that's about right. My lo only ever slept 10 to 11 overnight. 11 been very lucky night.

Morning nap too long! I’d gradually make it shorter ! I was waking my daughter from morning nap after 20mins at that age and that sorted out my early morning starts .

then it got shorter - 15 mins then 10 mins and then it was dropped by 15 months 🙈

Agree with pp - morning nap too long. I'd cut it down to 30 mins and then cut further if you need. Our baby was on a very similar schedule, started doing the same around 10 months, and this has helped. Nap 1 is now 20 mins, nap 2 is 1.5-2 hours (always awake by 2.30) and she sleeps from 6.45 ish until 6.15/30.

Thank you for the advice, we are one week into a shorter morning nap, so far so good. LO is now sleeping through to 6ish am.

Bedtime has to be later and one nap might have to go
