Baby with Covid

My 8 month old has Covid as do I and DH. His main symptoms are snots, high temps and crankiness. I suspect he feels awful poor thing.

He’s normally a great sleeper but unsurprisingly isn’t tonight. It’s my first sick baby experience and I’m not sure what to do. He’s loaded up with max doses of Calpol/brufen but won’t settle either in cot or in bed with me. He’s fallen asleep in my arms in rocking chair a few times but won’t then transfer. He’s been on boob near constantly so presume getting some comfort from that.

Do I just accept night in rocking chair and make myself a large coffee to stay awake? Do I keep trying to transfer to somewhere he can sleep safely? All things clouded by fact I still feel crappy. Husband currently has high temp so I’ve send him to sleep in spare room in hope he can take over in morning if he feels better.

I would transfer safely, don't try and stay awake.
Hope you all feel better soon.

I would transfer and if that fails try cosleeping in your bed, you need rest too.

Multiple failed transfers to both his cot and my bed so far 😭. First time this has happened since he was tiny. Ah well. This too shall pass. And for me there’s caffeine…

Pop him in the bed with you. Mines 11 weeks and she's been six a few times. So for our sake we just share a bed most nights. She'll go down in the next to me now and again.

We've been to a baby sensory group, and the next day people have tested with covid. We're not feeling great so I'm really worried about it. I had jabs and covid while pregnant so hope if it is, she'll be ok.

Sending love to you all. It's always a shock the first time baby is proper sick xx

Can you lie down with him still latched on? Might be a bit uncomfortable for you but at least you'll nod off for a bit.

Poor you and baby. I would try lay in your bed whilst cuddling her on your husbands side then when she's fully asleep move over to your side. Prop pillows on the edge and she will be fine.
