21 Month Sleep... Help!!!

Hi All

Looking for some advice.

My 21 month went from a good sleeper of 730pm to 630am sleeping with 2 hour nap at 12 to 2pm.this was from about 18 to 20 months

The last few weeks he has been refusing to go to bed, it takes 2 hours to get him down and then hes waking up at 5am ready for his day. We put him down still and let him do his nap 12 to 2pm still. He goes down for nap fine

We have tried:
Cutting nap 12 to 130 so only 1.5hrs
Tried a later bedtime at 8pm and 830pm
Tried an earlier bedtime of 7pm

At 5am we dont go in, he rolls and round and plays as such with his little blankie. Bangs his feet, jumps around. No crying just energetic.

Anyone been in the same boat? There doesnt seem to be a standard regression at 21 months :(

Any tips!?

Could it be the heat? Ours is the same age and has been for

When you have made changes how long do you do change for? A day? Or a week?

Thank you for the replies

@roarfeckingroarr Maybe, he wakes up at 5am and his room is at a good temp, I have a small blanket over me. It doesnt seem really hot in his room at 5am to make him wake up everyday this time. Although may explain why he isnt going down! From memory it started just a little before the heat. It definitely doesnt help 😪

@ChittyBang1987 we have done it for about 4/5 days, is that enough time?

This happened to us and the only thing that worked was cutting the nap to 30min.

When I have searched up on early waking. I have read any changes you make to routine can take up to 3 weeks to see the difference. If we put my lo to bed at 7pm she would be up at 5am.... unless obviously my lo been at nursery and not slept at all for her nap.

So my 16 month old does
10mins at 945am approx
1pm asleep till 3pm awake.
8pm asleep.
Awake between 6am and 7am. Usually about 630am give or take.
So my lo has the same sleeping time as your lo and she's low sleep needs. Think it may be a bit trial and error with your lo. Maybe too much daytime sleep? Maybe needs longer awake periods? As my lo can manage up to 6 hours before bed without to much of a struggle just gets bit grumpy towards end.

Checking usual stuff of is lo hungry? Maybe add a supper? Is lo cold? Is it dark enough? Is anything waking lo? We have pink noise blaring so not much wakes my lo.
