Bedsharing advice with 6 weeks old

My LO will be 6 weeks old tomorrow and has been bedsharing this week as she would not settle in nexttome crib. She usually will roll herself on her side to ask to be breastfeed but I make sure she’s on her back when she goes back to sleep. I sometimes wake up to find her sleeping on her side. If she is rolling herself over is it still safe to bedshare?

I’ve been following all recommendations from the lullaby trust 🙂

Yes you're all good. So long as you put baby to sleep on back you can't control what happens in the night. It's not different to if she was in a cot. Enjoy!

Side sleeping is fine, it's tummy sleeping you want to avoid.

You'll probably find as she gets bigger that she'll do "self service" overnight - all 3 of mine did and if you can bf lying down it'll really increase the amount of sleep you get.

Beware of the "cosleeping will kill your baby" brigade

My 10 week old does that, I do the safe sleep 'C' baby on back, half way through the night he's curled up latched onto my boob.
It's a godsend

Thanks for the feedback 😄 I’m still a bit nervous and feel guilty as she is so young but can’t believe how much more sleep we’re both getting!

Did this with both babies, got SO much more sleep and it felt so natural. Both mine would roll onto their side to latch on as well. As long as you are following lullaby guidelines it is perfectly safe.
