Toddler waking at 6am

Good morning 💤

My two year old has started going from sleeping full nights with 6:30am starts, to the same routine but waking at 4:30am each morning.

The only difference is we now have a newborn at home, although the first few nights with a newborn my toddler didn’t wake earlier, nor does the newborn cry at these times to wake the toddler up, nor are their rooms close enough to cause the toddler disturbance.

Just looking for help/tips on why my 2 year old seems to think 4:30am is now the best time to get up each morning.

Thank you! (From an already tired mother of a newborn who could do with that extra hour) 😄

Clearly tired… title even says the wrong time!

Mine was doing that for weeks! I've cut the nap shorter so she also wakes from it earlier and put her to bed slightly earlier. She's woken around 6am for the past three days - I'll take it!

There's a seagull nesting on a roof 2 houses over that starts squawking at about 4.30am, so we've been having similar. Black out curtains help, as has playing white noise/lullabies to cover up the noise a litter

I'm currently in this phase with my second. My first did this too. Like PP, I think it's linked to them needing less nap time. I've found it's such a hard balance between getting nap early enough and short enough and then getting to bed at an earlier time to encourage sleeping longer.
It will pass! I know that doesn't help now but it will.
