6 month old suddenly waking up every 1-2 hours to eat

My DD slept through from 8 weeks. I'm very luck, but I think this is why the recent phase has come as a bit of a shock.

She started waking just once per night, crying for a feed, so I fed her and put her back to bed. Now it is maximum 2 hours that she'll sleep at one time, before waking up and asking for a feed.

She eats really well during the day and she's getting noticeably chubbier. I don't know if it's a growth spurt or what...

Tell me this phase ends... I'm exhausted!

Last night she was awake until 9, when I fed her and put her to bed (she's always been awake 7-9pm after a 6pm-7pm nap, so this is normal bedtime) she woke at 10.15, 11, 12.15, 2, 4, 5 and then she was awake for the day at 6.15.

Some will say ride it out. 6 months is still young. I had the same. Night wakings gradually increasing until I was shaking with exhaustion. I made it to 8 months and could take no more.

Into his own room and away from the sound and smell of me at night. Whenever he woke, his dad went in. Cuddles, dummy, sippy cup of water. We did it gradually over a week where I went in one time less each night until I wasn't going in at all. Just over a week and it was fine. He sleeps 8pm-5am now. One feed and back to sleep til half 7, sometimes half 8.

Do it when you feel you and baby are both ready, but at the same time don't be a martyr and exhaust yourself. There does come a point where they don't need the milk at night anymore.

Now I can go in if he ever wakes in the night (happens occasionally) and he settles in a couple of minutes with a cuddle and back to bed. Never looks for the milk. The change is astonishing. He also goes to bed awake after his last feed and settles himself with his teddy, something I could never have imagined before as I always fed to sleep.

What size bottles do you give? It sounds like she doesn't get to sleep properly with those wake ups. Some less than an hour?

Have you started weaning? Make sure bottles still take priority at this age.

Could be a growth spurt. Could be overtired and unable to settle properly? What are her naps like in the day?

Not enough/too much daytime sleep can have a huge impact on nights. 6pm is far too late for a nap at 6 months old. Sounds more like she's ready for bed at that time perhaps? Or stretch another hour and put her down at 7pm?
