Hi,
Just looking for some advice.
Bit of background - My son is 6 months old. He has always been a sleep fighter!! We managed to get him into a bedtime routine of feed, bath and bed by 7pm and he would usually wake approx 4 hourly for feeds and then go straight back to sleep. Getting him to sleep can take an hour of crying, back arching, flailing arms etc but can be easy. Sometimes he requires a little bit of help e.g. stroking his head/nose but most of the time he can get to sleep without help from me (He has a dummy). Naps are another story 🫣
For the past few weeks he has started waking up 2 hourly (sometimes 1 hourly) and won't go back to sleep unless I feed him. I have tried waiting before I feed him to see if he will fall back to sleep but it rarely works. He feeds for a few minutes maximum and then falls asleep. I then wake him up to wind him and put him back in his crib and he will go back to sleep.
He's EBF, feeds on demand (around 3 hourly) throughout the day.
I'm exhausted. Hes always been a very fussy baby so it takes a lot of energy to keep him happy in the day, which is all well and good If I'm getting sleep but I'm really struggling! Has anyone been through this? If so how did you correct it?
Tia.
