when to ditch the sleeping bag

So my LO has just turned 11 months, and the big 1 is fast approaching. I check developmental milestones sometimes and today I've received an email from Emma's Diary stating "If your baby has slept in a sleeping bag up till now it’s probably time to switch to using a sleepsuit with a baby quilt or blanket"
I'm wondering if anyone could share their experiences of making the switch, or on the other hand if your older babies are still using sleep bags as I know they make them up to 3years?

We’ve used them with our girls until they are 3 or so. Nothing cuter than a toddler walking around in the sleeping bag at bedtime (like a drunk ghost!).
In the winter, it saves you having to repeatedly put the duvet back on the bed when the child kicks it off!
If you like them, continue!

My ds was in his until 2½ years old at which point he went into a big bed. I wouldn't stop using it on the basis of an email. They make them for older than age 3 too

We kept our daughter in hers until she just didn't want it anymore. Think she was about 2 maybe 2 1/2, we would check on her and she had gotten out of it and didn't want to get out back in. I would just take the lead from your kiddie

We kept them till just before we switched the cot to a toddler bed at 3. We gave her a toddler pillow at 2.

my 16 month old is still in one. She moves too much in night and would be uncovered through the night if she didn't wear it. I didn't think there was a set age to stop using. On site I buy from they have adult ones 🙈

DD was in her sleeping bag until she grew out of the largest size global. Around 2.5 or so. We also kept her in a toddler bed until she was almost 4 as we had dangerous stairs! (Rented)
She never realised maybe she could climb out of it and I think the sleeping bags helped! Other bonus was that she couldn't kick off her blankets and wake up. And they look super cute in them.

I kept my DD2 in hers for a long time as she slept so well. You can get some big ones, sometimes they go up to age 6! I had a lovely muslin one for the summer, I can't remember the brand but it was 0.5 tog I believe, literally muslin material. Ahh I miss those days Smile

Global = grobag

eatingasatsuma · 09/07/2022 21:47

When I say I, I mean I had one for DD. They don't go up to age 36 Grin
