My daughter will be 3 at Christmas. I am on a fast moving highway to wits end with her sleep. Last night it was 10pm, night before that 10.30 and it’s been like this for months.
I remember my older kids going to sleep later in the summertime but it was never as bad as this.
I’ve tried everything..move bedtime later/earlier, let her nap/don’t let her nap, get her up earlier etc nothing has made a difference.
She has a calm routine before bed and gets plenty of exercise each day. I know I can’t force her to sleep and she may just be a child who doesn’t need that much😳
A plea..anything else you wise mums can think of that I haven’t tried? AND if I just need to suck it up, some coping mechanisms to keep me sane! TIA all πŸ’

My son was like this. It wasn't until he was 7 he was diagnosed with ADHD. He now needs melatonin to sleep.

I'm afraid there's no advice. Basically my son's brain is just wired and awake. That's it. The only thing (when he's not on his melatonin) that will make him sleep is taking him for a swim about 6pm. The melatonin doesn't work all the time though and he needs breaks. When he's on a break it can be 1am,2am etc.

Just know it's nothing you're doing or not doing. My daughter sleeps perfectly fine and takes herself off to bed at 8pm. It's very very frustrating and exhausting frankly.

Oh @CoastalWave that does sound exhausting you poor thing. Thank you for your reply. I’ve heard of adults taking melatonin for jet lag but they always got it in the US. Do you need a prescription here?
The wired and awake thing really resonates…after an hour or more of bath, stories, songs etc she just pings up β€œPLAY MY TOYS NOW”
Can you remember what you used to do when he was 2.5 while waiting for your son to fall asleep? Thank you πŸ™
