short/inadequate daytime naps

Another query from me about naps! When DS (9mths) naps in his cot, he sleeps for 35 mins. He's too awake to fall asleep, but yawns and is cranky until he goes down again. Falls asleep relatively easily by himself with his head wedged into a corner of the cot - have tried moving him to see if this helps, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. If we go out in the car/pushchair he'll go for an hour plus no probs. Advice gratefully accepted.

my son sleeps in a large travel cot permently.. cos he kept hitting against the cot.. since going into a travel cot (as it has mesh sides) he has slept sooooo much better... i would like to point out thought that the travel cot i got in a prefect fit for a proper cot contential size mattress.. so his comfort & support is the same as if in the cot... if i had another child.. i would only ever use the travel cot... all that hitting off bars etc... is a thing of the past!

That is genius! Oddly as I was posting yesterday DS woke briefly and went back to sleep - yippee! I think we may finally be getting us some kind of routine together.
