6 month old screaming before naps/bedtime

Really just wanting some reassurance that I’m not the only one going or has gone through this!
my 6 month old has never been an amazing sleeper but became a lot worse about a month ago, fighting bedtime (we’ve had a solid bedtime routine since 7 weeks old and before was going down a dream) fighting naps, only having cat naps, and waking a lot more frequently at night.
the main thing upsetting me at the minute is nap times are an absolute nightmare, taking a good half an hour+++ to settle him, he screams and screams to the point where i think he’s going to throw up. He’s often drenched in sweat. I hate seeing him get so upset.
hes not been able to get himself off to sleep since sleep went downhill a month ago, he’s rocked or fed to sleep although I can put him in the cot and get him off by shhing and patting occasionally
He’s also recently mastered sitting and rolling so a lot of development stuff going on plus teething signs but nothing come through yet…
im fairly sure it’s a phase etc etc but is it normal??

My son was like this at 6 months and it was awful! What awake windows are you working towards? Looking back I wasn’t giving him anywhere near enough time awake before bed and he was absolutely furious that I was putting him to bed undertired.
