11 month old. Sleep is HARD work

I am really struggling with my 11 month old. He has never been a great sleeper but the last couple of weeks he is hard work. Refuses to nap in the afternoon, it's so frustrating I spend so much time trying to put him to sleep. He wont sleep in his cot, rock/hold him until he falls asleep. We co sleep as it's the only way I could get a bit more sleep. He tosses and turns and stirs every hour after midnight. Does it get better?! Please help. Not open to leaving him to cry

Sorry no advice but my little girl is EXACTLY the same - turning one in two weeks and sleep just seems to be getting worse and worse. He sounds identical to her! I have little in the way of advice, we have tried so many different sleep training strategies (but I won't do CIO - too traumatic for me!!) but nothing has worked. Sending solidarity and big cups of coffee!! 💐
