17 month old naps

My DS has been waking at 5.30am quite regularly since he was 6 months old, with some reprieve when I have changed his naps a bit (eg dropping morning nap etc) when he has woken a bit later ie 6.30am. But after a while it always seems to revert back to 5.30am!

He naps very well and I always have to wake him. At the moment I am waking him after 2 hours. Does it sound like I should try shorten this?

He goes to bed at 7.15pm and wakes at 5.30am. So 12hours 15 minutes sleep on average each day. (He also always has a 10 minute catnap in a pram as he cannot make it until lunch otherwise! And has been known to fall asleep in his highchair if he hasn't had the catnap...!)

Any ideas would be very welcome!

Basically I'm not sure if he is over or undertired... And a 2 hour nap seems quite standard at his age?

Thanks - it's usually 12.30 to 2.30. My eldest slept 7pm to 6.30am with a 2 hour nap at that time!

I could put to bed later but would have to rethink my routine with both children. Am tired at the thought of it! So was wondering if I shortened nap if that might help instead

Yeah, it could be a phase but likely bedtime needs to be shifted a bit
