18 weeks - catnaps and night waking

My son is 18 weeks in two days and he's never been a amazing sleeper (the first 8 weeks were hell he woke up to breastfeed every 1.5 pretty much day and night). He's slept through 3 times randomly and always tried to recreate those days but always failed.
He's been catnapping since forever (probably for at least 8 weeks) and even on me he will only sleep 30-50 minutes. The odd time I manage to link a sleep cycle but more often than not I cannot. He actually self-settles with a dummy quite well on the cot (I'd like to think because I'm putting him down at the right time) but he will do only do those 30-45 minutes tops. I keep reading that they should be on 3/4 naps but l find that he needs to have 5 in order to make it to bed time and because of all of these catnaps he actually cannot self settle at bedtime I believe because he hasn't slept enough.
I find that his wake windows are quite short. Like the first one of the day is 1.20 (or less) and the rest are roughly 1.30 and I aim for 1.45 for bedtime. Should I be pushing him to stay awake for longer?

His first nap is the longest (like an hour) which I normally have on me because honestly I love the morning cuddles and I want him to have a proper nap at least. His last nap as well tends to be long as well, more like an hour (this one he does by himself).
At night he wakes 2 or 3 times which I know it's normal but at 5am he takes aaaaaages to settle again and most of the time end up co-sleeping. Is this normal top?
