Advice dropping to one nap - early morning waking

So...

My son isn't ready to drop to one nap yet as he's just only one next week.

But currently he wakes 5.15am (I keep in cot til 6am)

But I've realised I think he's waking early as has too much day sleep.

We currently do:

6am (out of cot) although he wakes 5-5.30
9-10 nap 1
1.45/50-3.15 nap 2
7pm bed

However not sure what to do, long morning nap which I'll eventually push forward and doing a cat nap in the afternoon for now?

Or cut his morning nap and bring lunchtime nap earlier until his morning naps gone?

What's your advice. He's SUPER tired come 9am atm because he technically wakes so early.

My lo is going between 1 and 2 naps.
How old is lo?
Are you waking from naps?
Does lo sleep through?

Just seen your lo is one next week. Usually most Los don't drop to 1 nap until 15 to 18 months, but can differ to each baby.

Have you tried a later bedtime?

It’s really, really difficult. Myself and all my antenatal friends had this problem and there are thousands of threads regarding babies circa 10-14 months who wake between 4 and 5. It’s the old problem of 2 naps being too many but 1 being not enough combined with not being physically tired enough to sleep more than 10 hours at night. DS timed learning to run with being ready for 1 nap at the same time (~ 15 months) within a week he was sleeping until 6:30am minimum.

Id either keep the naps as they are and try and inch bedtime back to 19:30. Or id cut the morning nap down to 20-30 minutes and bring the afternoon nap forward by half an hour. I would definitely avoid a long morning nap - a) it will likely make your early start worse and b) if your DC refuses the afternoon nap, it’s a hell of a long time until bedtime.
