Struggling with cot naps

My nearly 9 month old sleeps fine in her cot overnight without any wakeups.

She is on 2 naps a day which are in her pram carry cot inside her cot. This was initially supposed to be a stepping stone out of walking pram naps and has been working well but she is too big for it now so we are trying to get her to just nap in her cot. But she wont! She has the room dark, white noise, sleeping bag etc all the same as at night but she just cries until I give up and put her in the carry cot.

Could anyone help please? I'm in this awkward position now where she is getting herself too overtired and upset and having a knock on effect on the day. Tia

My son wouldn’t nap in his cot. I just let him nap in the pram during the day. It was actually more convenient because I wasn’t tied to the house so I could go shopping or collect my older child from school while he slept. If we were at home he just slept in the kitchen in front of the patio doors, or if it was a nice day Id pop him in the back garden.
There’s no rule that they have to nap in the cot.

Its just she is too long for the carrycot now, she looks so uncomfortable in it.

Shes never really been one of those 'sleep anywhere' babies, we have always had to work really hard on naps otherwise we just end up with a tired furious baby who refuses to sleep. Shes not once just fallen asleep somewhere random like other babies seem to...

Does she actually sleep in it even though she looks too big for it? I'd be tempted to let her until she chooses not to?
