Baby crying in sleep

My LO is 10’weeks and always cries in her sleep. Initially I thought she was waking constantly because she was hungry/wanted comfort but having observed her she is asleep but screams between sleep cycles. Is this normal? How long would a cry like this last? For my LO it’s a few minutes of screaming but then she’s quiet and still?

If your baby is crying while sleeping, the first thing you should do is check to see if she's hungry. A baby will often cry because she's hungry, and this can easily be resolved by feeding her.

If your baby is not hungry, you should try to determine the source of her distress. Is she uncomfortable? Does she have a wet diaper? Is she too hot or too cold? Once you've determined the cause of her distress, you can take steps to remedy the situation. For example, if your baby is cold, you can adjust the thermostat or put a blanket over her. If your baby is uncomfortable, you can try changing her diaper or moving her to a different position.
