7 month co sleeping transition

Hi my DD will be turning 7 months next week and I need to get put of co sleeping and her still sleeping on me for naps. I need some freedom back.
Any helpful tips - I've read so many theories on what to do I'm at a loss where to start. She struggles to sleep flat on her back as she constantly throws her arms back and wakes up. She has slept on my arm pretty much since birth. I realise this was a mistake but I just wanted her and me to both get some sleep and I got a bit stuck.
Thank you.

Have you tried putting her down on her front?

And, no, it wasn't a mistake. You did what you needed to sleep.

My son is 7 months too. He still contact naps a lot because I like it and know I'll miss it one day. It also gets the longest naps out of him. He sleeps on his front for naps and at night. He still wakes often for a feed. I'm just going with it and seeing what happens.

Hoping to pick up some tips here too. I've got a 7 month old and we are in a similar situation - was wondering whether to move her into her own room and try pick up put down method. Feels quite emotional though!
