DD is nearly 5 months old. For some background, I have always struggled to get her to nap during the day. She has never wanted to be held or cuddled to sleep, up until 3 months she did almost all of her naps in the sling but then she started fighting that. Around 3 months I got her to take her first nap of the day in the cot, falling asleep by herself with no tears, success I thought... She would always wake after 30 mins, but this was fine as she was taking a longer nap in the sling or pram later. But for the last 2 weeks or so she wakes 30 minutes into EVERY nap crying her eyes out!!! Doesn’t matter if it’s in the cot, pram, car, the same thing happens. The only time she naps longer than 30 minutes is on the boob but she literally has to have my nipple in her mouth the entire time or she immediately wakes up crying. It is impossible to get her to go back to sleep without BF, if I try and cuddle her to sleep she just gets hysterical :(
I’ve tried introducing a dummy but she won’t take it, she just moves it round her mouth but doesn’t suck.
Please give me some hope, naps are dominating every single day at the moment and she’s constantly grumpy and tired. I just want to enjoy our time together instead of just battling to get her to sleep all bloody day!!
