Cot or adult bed

Hi all, my 4 months old sleeps much better in the travel cot rather than in her crib so I want to transition fully. I now have a big double bed in the spare room and thinking of adding a bed guard so she can sleep in it. Is it safe or should I really buy a new cot? She sometimes sleeps in our bed and seems to be fine.

A bed guard isn’t even close to a complete barrier because they’re designed for toddlers to still be able to get in/out of bed around them. So no I don’t think it would be safe for a small baby unless perhaps it’s purely for supervised co-sleeping which doesn’t sound like what you’re planning. If baby sleeps well in the travel cot you could just stick with that! My DD slept in one for 2 months when we relocated and we’re waiting on the shipping container to arrive.

You could try a double floor bed but I agree with PP that unless it’s fully enclosed the drop wouldn’t be safe.
