My baby will not sleep on his own during the day!

I wonder if anyone could give me a bit of advise. My son is 2 months old and he will not nap during the day unless he is in my arms!
He actually sleeps quite well during the night. I change him, feed him, burp him and then put him down and he usually sleeps through until his next feed.
During the day, I do the exact same thing, but I do add a bit of baby sensory or tummy time during his wake window. But he will not settle for a nap on his own. He is definitely tired as he shows all signs of a tired baby, and he will sleep in my arms, but as soon as I put him down he is awake and starts crying.
i have tried the put down drowsy but awake method, I also try to put him down the correct way to not startle his reflexes, but it does not work.
He sleeps in the Moses basket at night next to me. I use the same Moses basket during the day downstairs. So I know he must be comfortable in there as he sleeps fine during the night.
the only thing i can put it down to, it the daylight, but my Heath visitor has told me he is too young and needs to learn to nap during the day. If I put him in a dark room to nap he will never learn.
I have tried Googling this, but I can’t find any information, only can find advise on babies not sleeping at night.
please help!

My baby (now 2) was exactly the same - is doing a walk in the pram an option? That was the only way I could get her to settle and then I could leave her for an hour when i got home in the pram whilst I got on with jobs. That, or a sling? A sling can also help with reflux as they're not on their back X

I don't have an answer but just wanted to send some reassurance that I had two babies who never napped in a cot. I tried A LOT to establish it with my first with no success and it just stressed me out. With my second, after him refusing the first few times I just didn't bother persevering. Both slept either on me or in the pram. I watched lots of Netflix with the first and walked a lot with the second! It's hard when you're in it, but please be reassured that you are not alone!

Ignore the HV.

My eldest didn't nap in the day unless held or in his car seat. He had reflux and hated being laid flat. I either held him for naps or put him in the car seat.

When I had my youngest, I also had a two year old. Youngest would not nap downstairs with eldest around, he needed quiet and dark so I put him in our bedroom for naps while I played with eldest in his room.

Most adults find it difficult to sleep in broad daylight with lots of noise. I don't understand why people assume babies should be different.

This is totally normal for a 2 month old. Pram or buggy can be options but if contact napping is working for you then that's fine too.

Totally normal! Contact nap and get a box set on or try the sling if you want to get stuff done. He's so tiny, he just wants close human contact. I wouldn't listen to HV advice on sleep tbh. If he'll sleep in a dark room upstairs then do that!
