Hi - looking for advice from co-sleeping parents who have opted for a floor bed in baby's room. I'm looking for a double floor bed to enable co-sleep but also with high enough railings to prevent baby from getting out. DD (11mo) currently sleeps with me in our bed and DH is in the spare room. I can't leave DD after bedtime as she could roll off or crawl off. One side is blocked by her unused cot but the other three are open. I'm going back to work p/t mid May and need a different solution, so I can get some evening back. So I'd ideally like to get her off to sleep in a safe environment and then come away then rejoin her at bedtime, with the goal of gradually not doing this. Obviously one solution is the cot, but DD is VERY resistant to sleeping in it. I am open to suggestions for how I can find a sleep solution that works (eg a double floor bed with railings) or to a plan for getting DD back in her cot. Any ideas gratefully received as, much as there are lovely benefits to co-sleeping, I do need to transition her for the reasons given.
