7 week old Terrible nights

hi - my LO started off as a relatively good sleeper doing 2-3 hour stretches. However the last few nights she literally wakes every 40 mins/ hour. It’s not hunger. It’s as though she wakes and can’t put herself back to sleep. If she wakes and I pick her to BF she falls asleep in 2 mins but I can’t keep doing that at night. She is swaddled so can’t access her hands to soothe - I tried to keep one arm free but she would just flap it around which I think disturbed her more. I thought about a dummy but presumably every time it falls out she would wake? She gets terrible gas and wind. But I always make sure to wind her after feeds. Not sure what to do but I’m so sleep deprived that it’s impacting me mentally. I know newborns are meant to wake at night but the fact she wakes so much makes me think something is wrong.

Could be allergies and she's reacting to something you're eating coming through in the milk - i had to give up caffeine and onions when my son was tiny but dairy, soy & eggs are more common ones. You could try keeping a food diary to see if there are worse nights after you eat certain things?

Co-sleeping saved me when my son went through phases of waking every 45 mins. The Lullaby Trust have good guidelines on how to do it safely (you would need to stop swaddling). So much easier if you can just pop a boob out and feed lying down still half asleep!
