Sleep conform item (5 months)

Do any of your babies around this age have comfort item in the cot? I'm unsure whether it would be considered safe to let him sleep with his little comforter - or perhaps his favourite teething toy?
He wakes up a lot in the night, doesn't need fed and isn't crying... just makes some noise and sometimes struggles to settle back down again, a dummy doesn't seem to cut it anymore.

I think lullaby trust says 5m is too early, I think we gave ours a Muslin comforter - one of those Muslins with an animal head about 6/7 months when they went into a big cot in their own room (not straight away, a few weeks later). I think they say a muslin one is ok as most likely can breathe through if it covers them or are mobile enough (rolling/pushing self around cot) to get out of the way

Best checking on the lullaby trust for their guidance for safe sleep though.

We gave ours a comforter (muslin type thing with animal head for him to hold around 6 months). We were confident he could pull it off his head if he needed to and infact a lot of comforters actually are regulated for nighttime sleep (I wasn't aware of this!) so you could always check before giving one to your baby
