Hi, my dd is 20 months old. Up to recently she had a good routine of getting up around 8.15, mid day nap and bed and asleep by 8. Then at the start of Decemeber we went away for a few days, then she was in hospital for a few days and then Christmas came so with all the change her routine has totally gone.
She doesn't want to nap now til later in the day and is sleeping much longer and then I can't get her to sleep at night. For the last few nights she has been awake til 11.00pm and I am exhausted as she is a bundle of energy.
What is the best way to re-establish her routine? Is it possible that at 20 months she no longer needs a nap. Might be obvious but I am too tired to work it out for myslef. Thanks

My DS is 19 months and wakes @ 7am naps from 12.30-2.15, bed at 8pm.

I thin they do still need a nap at this age. Its normally between 2.5 - 3 years that they stop needing one.

I would start by limiting her daytime nap to 1 hour which should have the knock on effect of her going down earlier, waking earlier and needing her day time nap earlier.

I'm not looking forward to DS dropping his nap - its my 'golden time'!
