My DS is 8 weeks old now and the past two weeks I have noticed that he struggles to sleep for any length of time during the day ( he sometimes has one long 2 hour nap if I’m lucky!) but after a feed at around half 6 he’d drift off at around 7pm and would sleep right through to around 2.30am and then goes back over and wakes at around 4/5am which is great and I know I am so lucky that he sleeps for that length! But I have a two year old that doesn’t nap and doesn’t go to bed until 8pm. So I would love to know is it possible to shift my 8week olds long sleep to start at around 9pm instead in the hope he wouldn’t then wake until 4.30?
How would I go about doing this? I tried for a few days waking him at 10/10.30 for a feed but it just didn’t seem right waking him and he still woke again at 2.30 anyway so it seemed a little pointless! Has anyone else managed to do something like this? Or am I better just going with his own schedule in the hope it will even out at some point? It would just mean I actually get to sleep while he is lol and the exhaustion is driving me mad 🤣
