We had a Gro blind. Easy to put up and good for holidays as well.

Gro-blind is the bee’s knees. But tbh once we realised DD doesn’t use her room except for sleeping, then in the morning wants to come straight into ours, we started taping up the window with a flattened out cardboard box. Curtains on top to look pretty, job done. If you tape it carefully to each section of window rather than the frame you should still be able to open it for air and (some) light.

BLack bin liners + masking tape. We always take a roll with us on holiday 😂.

Tommie tippee ones, but I found it still let light in. So I velcrowed the window sill along with blind. Viola. Pitch black. I guess it depends on your lo and sensitivity to light.
Hahaha, bin bags are a great idea!!!
