Does camomile tea help them sleep and is it OK to give it to a one-year old?

My Italian friend says that her brother gives his toddlers a bottle of camomile tea every night to put them to sleep. Has anyone tried this and is it alright to give such small people something like this long-term?

Don't know about that because i've never tried it, but I would strongly advise a few drops of lavender essential oil on their pillows at bedtime works really well, because it relaxes them. I use it myself too, and not only does it really relax me but I get a deeper sleep too. Be warned though, cheap brands may stain the pillow case very slightly, I would recommend Holland and Barratt, they have them on sale quite often too so it's good to stock up then. The thing is with the camomile tea is they may not like the taste, and if they want sugar in it it would avoid the point.
