If your baby was a pram napper…

…did they ever move on to napping in the cot?

My 11 month old naps brilliantly in her pram. I have no issue with it, just not sure I can imagine her still doing it when she’s two?! Have others with pram nappers just let them get on with it or have you got them in the cot at some point? She sleeps well in her cot at night. Like it said, just not sure I can imagine a two year old asleep in the pram in my utility room 🤣 but if it works I’m not against it.

I think one day about 8 months old I was fed up with the pram parked in the living room. So I got her a day sleep suit, and did a shorter version of bedtime routine and popped her in her cot and walked away 😆 🤣

The only problem swapping to a cot is I found my lo no longer wants to sleep in the pram longer then 45 minutes if we're out...... as she's a belly sleeper now.

So...... in a way its a shame to go to a cot as can be a bit restrictive for naps.depends how well your lo adapts.

Yes I do love the flexibility of the pram. If I need to go out, I just wheel her off and she won’t wake up!

Mine slept beautifully in their pram, all the way up to when naps were fully dropped. However, never slept in the cot really (couple of times for a few hours lol) so I was pleased with the pram.

Never!

Ds1 napped in his pram every day until he dropped his naps. He napped outside whenever it didn't rain and in the hallway when it did! Ds2 always napped in his cot from day one.

I got to the point around 10 months where I could transfer her from the car or pram into her cot without her waking up.

She dropped naps at 19 months anyway so the two year old asleep in a pram didn't end up being an issue!

I trained DD1 to nap in her cot when she was about 10 months old but by 18 months, she would only nap in the pram again! By 2.5, she had pretty much dropped her nap altogether. It was a lot of stress & effort to get her to nap in the cot so DS2 who just turned 1 has always been a pram napper & I have no intention of wasting time training him! He self settles well at bedtime in the cot no problem & as I learned with DD1, naps are for such a short period of time before their dropped so just enjoy the naptime, it really doesn’t matter where they sleep in my opinion!

Was just coming on to ask the same question so great to see all this advice. My 8 month old does all her naps in the pram and if I try to put her down in the cot during the day all hell breaks loose! So I'm just sticking with the pram for now as it's working and no stress. She sleeps fine in her cot at night. Just hoping she'll sleep ok at nursery when she starts in a few months but loads of people have reassured me the nursery workers have magical ways to get them to have a nap, fingers crossed.
