Ok to wake clock?

Can anyone recommend a clock that will show my 3 yrs DS when he can get up and when he must go back to sleep? I think they are called ok to wake. There’s a lot out there though and I’m a bit hesitant as they can be expensive. I really can’t afford to spend a fortune but I don’t think I want just a normal alarm clock, I want ones that goes different colours in the morning for example. Has anyone got one that works well?

We have a gro clock and that works well; blue with a moon at night and yellow with a sun in the morning and has moons round the side that tick off with the hours. I bought ours second hand and I often see them on Facebook marketplace for sale

Yes Gro clock here. Shows when to wake and also they can tell it's nearly morning when I star/moon is left. Look on Facebook marketplace or similar for one.

We had a groclock but I didnt like that it had to be plugged in so we got a purflo snooze sleep trainer which you charge up & doesnt have a lead. I do like the little book that comes with the gro clock though - I reckon I would just get whichever you can get second hand!

Groclock! Check on eBay as sometimes they pop up on there.

I got a Gro clock and it's been working great for my almost 3 year old. The cheapest i could find a couple of months ago was Smyths - I think it was £28

We got a gro clock and didn't end up using it as the light is so bright!
Lots of people like them though, but just putting it out there in case people considering one like a dark room.

BendingSpoons · 14/03/2022 12:52

@AppleBirdBrush do you mean the blue light at night? You can adjust the brightness on ours, so you can have the light off over night if you prefer. The sun does come up brightly but mine are awake by then!

BendingSpoons · 14/03/2022 12:53

The Gro clock controls are a bit awkward to get the hang of though!

AppleBirdBrush · 14/03/2022 13:00

@BendingSpoons it was a while ago so can't remember if we figured out turning it off during sleep time, but definitely didn't want it coming on brightly at wake up time as my son would sometimes still be asleep or dosing.

BendingSpoons · 14/03/2022 13:33

Yes true, it does act a bit like an alarm when the sun comes up. Mine aren't affected by light but would probably annoy me!
