Hi everyone dd2 has not had her dummy for 8 days. The first three days she did so well , now she is screaming at going down for a nap or sleep at night and wants to do anything that’s not lieing down. She will throw her head back and lash out at the thought of now going in her cot. I’ve tried just leaving her for her to calm down herself She’s getting so upset . Dh hates to hear her cry and just picks her up if she works herself up.
Is this just a phase she’s going through

Sounds like this has been brought on by missing her dummy would some kind of comfort toy help with the transition? Something she could cuddle and feels a bit special?

@MikeandDave she has a comforter that she used with the dummy before. She still has her comforter but doesn’t seem to use it as much now she doesn’t have the dummy. Upsets me so much to see how worked up she’s getting. I feel that if she falls to sleep in my bed and is transferred into the cot in her room each night it’s only going to make her worse but she’s so upset the last few days at any nap and sleep but was doing really well going off on her own without her dummy and no tears .

I was thinking of something new like a teddy that is a special friend for big girls who might be feeling sad and need a cuddle at bedtime.
