Naps for baby and toddler

I've got a toddler who will be two end of April and a baby who will be 5 month next week.
Toddler has always been a nightmare for naps but we've finally got him doing a one hour nap in his cot.
His younger sister can sleep in a moving pushchair, but will only ever do max 30 min and only if very tired.
I'm just wondering how we will ever leave the house once she settles into more of a routine, do I just force her to sleep in the pushchair even if naps are short? What about teaching her to sleep in cot? She does sleep in the carrier but then I can't play with the older one properly and it's not really a long term solution.
Parents with two little ones how did you do it?

Mine had a 2.5 year age gap. I used to feed dc2 to sleep on my lap then have telly on/do sticker books/read a story with dc1.

Or I'd plonk them both in the double pram and hope the tired one or both would drop off. Quite often the wrong one would drop off though!

In desperation a few times I just plonked them both in the car and went on the ring road until peace happened.

When dc2 was tiny I could have him sleep in the sling at the park and dc1 could play fine.

Never managed to get two kids napping in cots simultaneously. Once dc1 was at nursery most days I could get dc2 down for a cot nap, but if both home then they had too much fomo to go in a dark bedroom.

My toddler DD is two end of April, and I also have a 4 month old. Toddler naps 2-3 hours after lunch in cot. She's always been a great sleeper. 4 month old DS naps in cot too but only for 45mins max. He is a good sleeper too but currently in the catnapping stage. So We tend to go out for the morning and then he will do a long nap in the pushchair. Hoping his cot naps lengthen soon!
I remind myself it all changes so quickly and everything is a phase Smile
Best of luck to you.
